As a Digital Banking Product Owner, you will work closely with business stakeholders, clients, and agile development teams to ensure that digital banking solutions align with customer needs and the company’s strategic objectives. You will act as the ambassador of the client in the Product Management group and strive to bridge the gap between business analysis and product management, transforming business and technical requirements into an actionable backlog. Your role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-focused features, for challenging projects globally and improvements to our digital banking platform.
What will you be doing?
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements and translate them into software solutions with technical specifications. Use tools such as BPMN flows, sequence diagrams, and wireframes to ensure clarity and completeness of requirements.
- Backlog Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that all features and technical tasks are well-defined, refined, and meet the “Definition of Readiness.” Manage and groom the backlog to maintain alignment with business needs, project timelines and strategic initiatives transforming them into well-defined and actionable user stories, epics, and features.
- Feature Prioritization and Development: Prioritize features based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility considering the effort to deliver the features to users. Own the product’s “Definition of Done” and ensure that the delivered product meets both business and quality expectations.
- User Story Creation and Refinement: Write detailed user stories, breaking down complex requirements into smaller, manageable pieces. Use techniques such as story mapping to visualize the customer journey and prioritize development based on user needs and business value.
- Agile Development Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional agile teams (UX designers, developers, QA testers) during two-week sprints, providing clear guidance on requirements and resolving any questions or ambiguities that arise.
- User-Centric Design: Ensure that all features are developed with a strong focus on user experience, using wireframes and prototypes to define UI/UX requirements and collaborating with designers to create a seamless user journey.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics, data insights, and market research to make informed decisions on product backlog.
- Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies during product development, ensuring the balance between innovation, delivery speed, and platform stability.
- Market Trends and Innovation: Keep up to date with trends and innovations in digital banking to provide insights into potential features and improvements for future product iterations.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to other business analysts, helping them grow their skills, refine processes, and share knowledge.
