SysOps Engineer

DESCRIPTION

As an Advantage FSE SysOps engineer you will be part of our team of talented professionals handling challenging projects for our Clients in countries of all 5 Continents and offering internal support on ongoing & new projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with AFSE customers to assist them in the deployment, operations and management of the IT systems running our products.
  • Working with our Product, Development and QA teams to provide and maintain the system resources they require for their functions.
  • Administer vital DevOps internal systems such as Jira/Confluence and Bitbucket, Container Scheduling Clusters etc.

 What you will be learning?

 How to support IT infrastructure solutions for modern Enterprise, n-tier FinTech applications.

  • How to interact with a diverse group of both external and internal customers.
  • How to obtain in depth technical skills and apply them in demanding environments.

REQUIREMENTS

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong technical background in systems, network and application management with particular emphasis on Linux Operating Systems.
  • A team player who can effectively communicate with our customers and efficiently conclude the tasks at hand.
  • Eagerness to learn new things and deep dive into technical matters.
  • A self-motivated, customer orientated individual with strong analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.

What do your qualifications look like?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or relevant job experience performing related technical tasks.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication in English. All external communications are in English and it is expected that you will be able to effectively engage and lead customer calls, for support requests, installations, presentations and training sessions.
  • Experience in an IT customer support role, preferably in English with full use of collaboration tools such as Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year working experience with installation and administration of Linux based operating systems.
  • Experience working with JEE Application Servers setup, configuration and administration will be appreciated.
  • Knowledge of TCP networking and security technologies in the context of OS and application support.
  • Working Knowledge of RDBM Systems and basic operating experience with a popular RDBMS such as Postgres or MSSQL.
  • Experience in environment scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Windows Powershell etc)
  • Experience in developing and maintaining, technical documentation.
  • Ability to travel if required. While the vast majority of our work is performed remotely, on-site presence may be necessary.
  • Completed military obligations for male candidates

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps Methodology, Release Management and Build Automation and hands-on work with the associated software tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Docker containers and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
  • Experience with public cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

    Our Selection Process

    Once you apply, your application will be reviewed by our recruitment team. If you’ve got the skills and the experience we are looking for, you will be invited to have an initial conversation with our Talent Acquisition team, where you’ll get to find out more about our company & the opportunity, while we can learn more about you.

    If things go well, you can then expect a technical assessment (depending on the role), and 2 – 3 interviews with the hiring team, after which a decision will be made.
